# Accounts and privacy

> What signing in to the Orbital web app shares, what Orbital asks GitHub for, and how to take it back.

You sign in to the Orbital web app only to connect services to your Orbital. The Orbital app on your computer works without an account.

## What signing in shares

You sign in with GitHub. Orbital uses Clerk to run the sign-in, so Clerk receives your GitHub name, login, avatar and email address. The account page shows your name, login and avatar.

## What Orbital asks GitHub for

Orbital asks GitHub only for the repositories you choose, so your runs can work in them. GitHub shows you the list when you connect, and you can change it at any time with Change repositories on your account page or in [GitHub's installation settings](https://github.com/settings/installations).

## Take access back

Sign out on the account page to end the session in that browser. To stop Orbital using your repositories, remove it in [GitHub's installation settings](https://github.com/settings/installations).
