What each Orbital release added, improved and fixed, newest first. Changes that only affect how Orbital is built or tested are left out, and so are nightly builds. Each release links to its GitHub release, and each change to its pull request.
v0.3.11
Section titled “v0.3.11”10 October 2026 · GitHub release
- A workflow can declare a decide step. It asks a decision model structured questions and follows the answer, or takes its default path when no model answers (#3000, #2990).
- A fan-out can decide which of its branches start (#3001). The workflow editor adds and edits both (#3008, #3009).
- Settings has a Decision models page with Jev, Clef, Laya and Kev presets. Decision models are configured on the server and reach every run (#3007, #3005). Decision providers are plugins, and System One HTTP and Cloudflare Workers AI ship first (#2987, #2992).
- Each decision shows as a card in the run thread, with the path it took and why (#3006).
- Keyboard shortcuts: a command palette, a help view and rebinding in Settings (#3002).
- Settings → About lists the third-party licences Orbital ships (#2985, #3014).
Improved
Section titled “Improved”- Stored credentials move into one secret store, protected by a master key that always exists (#2988, #2998).
- The runs list stays responsive while several tabs poll it (#3004).
- The docs cover decide steps, deciding fan-outs and decision models (#3010), and the docs sidebar shows that it scrolls (#3003).
- Condition pills stay off other edges’ lines on the expanded imports map (#2986).
- The decision model API key hint no longer says where the key is stored (#3013).
- The web app accepts session tokens only from its own origin, and discards superseded account link completions (#2993, #2994).
v0.3.10
Section titled “v0.3.10”9 October 2026 · GitHub release
- Use models through OpenRouter (#2957). Each harness reports the models it can use, and OpenCode’s connected providers list the models Model settings offers (#2886, #2969).
- The start composer picks a preset, not a harness, and the Claude and Codex presets ship with every installation (#2885, #2882).
- Claude Haiku 5.5 joins the model catalogue and titles runs (#2881).
- A run started with Repeat starts again each time it delivers a pull request (#2879).
- Trigger rules have MCP tools (#2901).
- Shipped workflows live in the database and are editable like roles and presets (#2953).
- Runs are titled after their ticket and show its epic (#2958).
- Update and restart from About, and a restart that cannot relaunch says so (#2954).
Improved
Section titled “Improved”- Trigger rules are more predictable. A re-enabled rule resumes from now, a halted rule resumes on any save, a Start rule starts at most five runs per check and skips an item its own run still works on, and a schedule rule fires at its tick (#2924, #2925, #2932, #2931, #2933).
- A schedule tick missed while Orbital was closed is shown, and the latest one runs once on return (#2935).
- A rule waiting out a rate limit says so, and a check that cannot read every change says how much it skipped (#2937, #2942).
- Preview says saving does not act on the listed matches, and counts the runs a Start rule would start (#2946).
- The Runs page loads a page of runs at a time (#2904).
- Home and project workflows save in place (#2951).
- Toggling a notification switch shows an example notice, and Orbital says why switched-on notifications cannot show (#2894, #2878).
- The start page, Model settings and the agent question card are polished (#2890, #2891, #2893).
- Run branches show without the
orbital/prefix, and pull request and issue numbers show what they are (#2960, #2961). - A running skill shows which skill it is (#2956).
- A Linear checkpoint keeps only the scope its rule watches, and label and assignee conditions test the changed value (#2936, #2930).
- Switching a rule off stops its pending starts, and a start that keeps failing gives up (#2938).
- A schedule’s plain words match when it runs (#2939).
- A dragged step on the expanded map keeps its edges (#2884).
v0.3.9
Section titled “v0.3.9”8 October 2026 · GitHub release
- Check for updates, and the automatic update checks, work again in the desktop app (#2872).

- Pi joins Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode as a harness (#2784).
- A paused chat carries into a workflow goal (#2781, #2783).
pursue-goalreduces drift after every implement round (#2842).- Sending a message at a parked gate continues the run (#2814).
- A second server on the same Orbital home refuses to start, and the app opens its window on that home’s running server (#2846, #2856).
Improved
Section titled “Improved”- Resume, Retry, Jump and gate passage carry a run on from its last settled state, so a restart loses less (#2768, #2773, #2800).
- Each step keeps one Claude process or Codex app server across clean turns (#2817, #2816).
- Every tab following a live run is sent the same encoded event, so busy runs cost less to watch (#2837).
- Model settings are easier to use (#2782, #2798).
- Start-up reads each unfinished run once before runs walk their workflows (#2851).
- A turn cut short by more than one restart continues its newest session (#2848).
- Pausing a queued run takes it out of the queue for good (#2855).
- A replay after a restart follows the edges the live run chose (#2861).
- An ended run stays ended when something fails after its end, and an Abort that failed in the running server finishes (#2860, #2859).
- A pending tool permission waits for you like an open question (#2776).
- A failed pull request look no longer ends a run’s walk or watch (#2850).
- Codex approves Orbital’s own MCP tools (#2796).
- The pull request probe leaves out repositories the run never changed (#2797).
orbital skill installlinks where Claude Code reads skills (#2867).- The run menu opens in Firefox (#2845).
v0.3.7
Section titled “v0.3.7”5 October 2026 · GitHub release
- The workflow editor becomes a studio for reading and editing steps. It opens steps over the map, edits expanded imports, searches and creates steps from a route’s step picker, and marks new steps and what is left to finish (#2545, #2617, #2669, #2682).
- A step declares the values it hands over as fields: short text, paragraph, number, yes or no, a choice with a description and step for each option, optional fields and lists of items. The studio previews what the agent is told (#2679, #2694, #2702, #2708, #2716).
- A step lists the values it needs and where each comes from (#2721).
- One Model settings screen holds roles, presets and harness set-up. Model presets are stored, one is in use, and a running run takes the preset in use at its next turn (#2706, #2678, #2686).
- Roles carry a prompt and a description, and the role card and picker say what a role is for (#2667, #2676).
- The run log records where a harness could not carry a setting across (#2591, #2597).
list_runsover MCP pages its answer, filters more and shows recent runs by default (#2697).
Improved
Section titled “Improved”- A run’s history is written in one transaction per step, so a crash loses less and replay is faster (#2607, #2637, #2730).
- Health answers before work that grows with runs, worktrees and projects (#2646).
- Billing counts every Claude token once, on its model, and says what is missing (#2584). The Cost tab shows one model per row and fits without scrolling (#2690).

- Orbital leaves alone the processes another running server started (#2650).
